Philanthropy

Tri Deltas are passionate about serving others.

We remain dedicated to three aspects of philanthropy: sisters helping sisters through Tri Delta’s Foundation, our commitment to changing the way the world treats and defeats childhood cancer through our work with local and regional children’s hospitals and pediatric cancer initiatives and through our national partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Our chapter started a scholarship in the 1930s. It was a small loan of $200 or so. This continued with small increases in amount until 1954 when our current annual scholarship award began. The award was $500 or so, which gradually increased to $1,000. Our scholarship award remained at $1,000 for 15 or more years. We also offered scholarships to both a high school woman and collegiate woman. In 2014, we increased the award to $1,500. Now in 2022 we are able to award up to $3,000 in scholarship funds. The scholarship now awards up to $4,000!Beryl Haas, a 99-year-old alum, left us a surprise bequest. she had been a TriDelta for 80 years! -- with no children or other family. We are so lucky to use this gift to fund future education for young woman.
